Bearable

Last night/morning I watched the Royal Wedding with my mother and some cute neighbors. I may or may not have slept through some of it because I hadn't slept in 48 hours, but I still loved it. We wore tiara's AND even ate the cake baked for the wedding!! I couldn't help but think I should have been there. I missed it by 2 days, I repeat 2 DAYS. It's a bit unfortunate, for all parties really (I know Kate missed me, and wished I could have been there). She looked stunning, and although I couldn't make it, it made being home a bit more bearable as I watched the streets I used to roam (isn't that a song or something?).  Maybe it just made it harder...I don't really know, all I know is I miss it bad, and I hope this feeling ends soon. Or not.
Isn't she flawless?

Oh and I bought William and Kate the Love Story on DVD. You better believe I'm watching it tomorrow (there was too much other stuff to watch yesterday/today). Walmart 5 dollars...and now I'm sounding like a commercial. click.

I'm HOMEEEEE

...Okay not really, but I'm in back in London which is my home away from home. Cheesy as it sounds, London feels like home, and it's weird to think in just a few short hours I will be back in the States. I can't really express how lucky and grateful I am to have spent the last four months in Europe doing what I love--TRAVELING. Santorini was honestly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and I couldn't think of a more perfect way to end my study abroad experience (besides coming back to the Centre one last time, to beds made up for us in the Crowe's flat with the cutest little note saying "Em, Heather, and Lyse welcome home, make yourselves comfortable"). Well I'm off to bed, I have a plane to catch in a few hours people. Heather is coming back to America!!

Here are some photos of Santorini (a lot of them are still with Lyse, remember that whole dilemma?):

Awkward family photos.

Enjoying the sunset.

Beach, Kamari beach to be specific.
The pics of donkey riding, volcano hiking and swimming in the hot springs are yet to come... (maybe).

Remember When

....I ate blueberry pancakes at Mamas and she gave me a kiss and free hashbrowns, hiked a volcano, went swimming in the Mediterranean gulf hot springs, rode a donkey, ate a gyro, and watched The OC till 3 in the morning? Ya...good times, I hope this doesn't end too soon.

Pictures to come soon...it's a long story: Lyse's computer is broken... my camera is broken and has been since the last week in London (sorry I didn't tell you Mom...it's okay Lyse has been my personal photographer, now it's a problem since her computer is broken) but I will post pictures soon, once we figure everything out.

I love you Santorini.

Athens...

*Had its peak in the 5 century B.C. Seriously though. I mean it's one of those places you have to see because of the history--ancient Athens is really rad. Modern day Athens not so rad, in fact it's REALLY ghetto. Still glad I went.

Ancient Athens (aka the ruins):

36 Hour Ferry Ride

...from Venice to Patras. Not one of the best ideas I've ever had. In hindsight I'd splurge on a cabin, bring food, or just pay twice as much and fly. It's all part of the experience though...right?

Letters to Juliet

It happened. I went to Verona, wrote a letter to Juliet, read letters other people wrote to Juliet and basically lived my dream--letters to Juliet movie status. I LOVED Verona; it was beautiful and we quite simply had a great time.
Whitney Dursteler was right, best Granite in Italy.

Crying because Emily dropped her gelato

Just sending my letter

Oh the balcony

Writing our letters

I arrived!

Oh the balcony and wall

It's for good luck or something?

The Arena...a Colosseum want to be.
Once again everything in this post is backwards...the Arena happened first and the Granite happened last...too lazy to fix it. I'm expecting a response from Juliet soon!

When in Rome

When in Rome:
  • Eat absurd amounts of Gelato
  • Walk past the Trivi Fountain 20+ times
  • Say "when in Rome" in every sentence spoken
  • Take pics
  • Run into Holly
  • Sit in the Sistine Chapel and wonder "how the heck did Michael Angelo do this?"
  • Fall asleep on rocks at the Forum
  • Hang out with Lyse's mom for a bit
  • Get in free to every Musuem because it was "culture week"
  • Soak in the sun and eat more Gelato
This may be a bold statement, but if I had to choose to do a study abroad somewhere other than London, I'd choose Rome. Now here is a picture overload (most of which consist of food). PREGO!
